How It's Graded:

B, 8/10, or 3.3/5=6 points
B-, 7.5/10, or 3/5=5 points

D, 6/10, or 1/5=1.5 points
D-, 6/10, or 0.5/5=1 point
F, 0-5/10, or 0/5=0 points
I will review each film using actual and made up reviewers and newspapers and what not.
Each review will be given either a letter grade, a point value, or a star rating (they will vary between reviewers).
Films will be rewarded points based on the rating the reviewers give to the film.
Note: I am not trying to be nice. I am trying to be fair and realistic. Reviews don't generally harm a film's opening weekend; WOM does.
YOU DO HAVE THE OPTION OF NOT ALLOWING YOUR FILM TO BE SCREENED FOR CRITICS. HERE'S HOW THIS WORKS:
If you WANT your film reviewed, please fill out the following:
Film Title:
Cast:
Genre:
Release Date:
Why You Want It Screened: (as in "it's an Oscar-type film" or "I want this blockbuster to do real well, so hopefully it gets good reviews)
If you DO NOT WANT your film reviewed, please fill out the following:
Film Title:
Cast:
Genre:
Release Date:
Why You Do Not Want It Screened:
If you choose not to have your film screened, it will be reviewed during its opening weekend, and not before the opening day, just like in real life. Generally, unscreened films tend to be crappy films that people know are bad because no reviews are out yet, if that makes sense.
When you post to screen your films, if you have any plot synopses, clips, trailers, scenes, or ANYTHING you'd like to share to help boost your rating, you can PM it to me anytime BEFORE the day before the film's release (generally a Tuesday or Thursday).
Reviews will be compiled throughout the week before and during the film's release, and finally, your film will have a solid rating by the second weekend of its release.
Ratings:
60% or higher=FRESH (generally a film liked by critics)
59% or below=ROTTEN (generally a film disliked by critics)
I will also include Cream of the Crop ratings. That will feature FIVE prestigious reviewers (me, NY Times, Orlando Sentinel, Washington Post, and St. Petersburg Times). Once those five reviews are posted, they will be averaged into the scores of the other reviews (for instance, if your film gets a general consensus of 50% and a Cream of the Crop of 100%, the film's average rating would be 50% rotten).
Let me know if you have any questions and sign up to get started for reviews!
