ROD BEAT ICE!
YOUTHFUL DAYDREAMERS HAS COMPETITION FROM SUNSET BEACH
For the first time this season through the first thirteen days of the Daytime Television season ROD has finally beaten ICE for first place on a weekday this season. Give Amelia Heinle an early raise to her salary because she has done well job turning around ROD's daytime lineup this week. She's making her rivals Rebecca Herbst and Kelly Monaco very nervous over there at ICE.
ROD's strategy of picking up country viewers has really helped their success this week and it starts right at the top with Hunter & Kacey getting the job against Sarah & Drew AM. Both networks have some major holes in the morning hours to figure out before their midday talk shows air but at least they're not in deep trouble like SBC is with Sara Gilbert failing hard as host of the Morning Show against them.
ARIELLE AGAINST CARRIE TOMORROW AFTERNOON
Arielle Kebbel is doing a great job of growing out of her lower rated lead-ins as the erosion of 7 million viewers since Monday is to be expected but lets see how the show does back on the road in Chicago against Carrie Underwood's first show. Carrie Underwood's documentary special as she prepares as host for The Midday Show did very well which is a good sign for ROD tomorrow and the rest of this week. Jennifer Nettles last show as substitute did very well staying over 12 million viewers helping out ROD's new hot soap lineup. Although ICE is still beating head-to-head they have closed the gap on those soaps.
Youthful Daydreamers is no longer the only hot teen soap in town and could lose their stripes as the top daytime soap soon as Sunset Beach took advantage of its weakest competition during these first three days so far and put up a record audience for ROD Daytime grabbing 17.69 million viewers. Sunset Beach is that soap to watch out for right now no doubt.
Joel Osmond experienced a decline in that afterschool soap hour and this isn't due to declining star power its due to weak lead-ins and increased competition against it.
Tomorrow Amber Montana's Afternoon Show returns in Chicago.

Carrie Underwood arrives for her first day as host of The Noon Show (Sony Pictures Television) For the first time in daytime history there is a real chance for a program on another network to defeat The Noon Show and can The Midday Show do it on Thursday with their new host Carrie Underwood? Carrie Underwood has already helped save ROD in some areas this season with the arrival of several country superstars to the roster and some hit programs like Country Made, Hunter & Kacey, Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Undercover, and now what could be a revival of The Noon Show. With Jennifer Nettles hosting the show to its biggest all-time numbers the first three days of the week many should feel Carrie who is a way bigger star in NITRO to be able to have The Midday Show finally compete with The Noon Show. Since Arielle Kebbel became host on Monday for ICE The Noon Show has seen some of its highest numbers as well and has not been under 15 million viewers just yet so things will be interesting not only in this match-up on Thursday but in the coming days as well once both shows really start to settle in. Both networks still need better lead-ins but at least for The Midday Show the fact that it will not go head-to-head with The Noon Show in both half-hour timeslots that should help The Midday Show get a jump on The Noon Show. So let's see how this plays out on Thursday.
