For the third week in a row a Paramount release has topped the charts and to nobody's surprise it was Heather 2 which celebrated its one year anniversary with a DVD release on Tuesday November 9, 2010. Heather 2 moved about 43 million units which is the all-time high so far passing up Girl Games' 41 million last week.
The Story of Karla Moran just like Twin Sisters had a huge debut week for Paramount as Karla Moran is easily the box office's biggest horror flick to date.
Sony released their biggest property to date in The Rules of the Road which was a huge blockbuster for that particular studio during the summer as it moved 28 million units. Among holdovers their biggest surprise the success of Woody Allen's Problem Girl which moved 14.6 million units and Warehouse closed out its 3-week DVD run by moving 33.5 million units.
Universal had another good week thanks to Mario Lopez's variety series which became the variety series to be released on DVD to date moving 16 million units off the shelves while Single at Fifty finishes its 2-week run with 8.5 26.8 million units moved.
Warner Bros. on the other hand is having a real lousy time moving their DVD releases off the shelves these first three weeks. Only Taylor 404 is doing any solid numbers thus far.

Next week should be interesting as we have Youth of Life's DVD package leading the pack as we'll see if it can surpass Janit O'Day record breaking opening for a TV DVD release but Warner Bros. will throw out their first two major movie releases in StarSuck and Jade & the Poisoned Heart.

Damn Paramount just be dominating the damn charts.
So glad Rules of the Road and Problem Girl are doing so well.
Kind of sad to see Warehouse not get a chance to move anymore units but at least it grossed over a billion bucks at #2 on the yearly chart.

Nanny Work has lasted longer than Single at Fifty has.

Being real honest here I just don't see any other studios passing up Paramount in first place anytime soon due to the fact that we're front loading huge releases all the way through the holiday season. I'm going to go cold with the major releases in January so maybe somebody will catch Paramount by then but not through the holiday season.
