Tuesday was a very good day in daytime for SBC as we know Melissa Peterman has struggled to throwout a lineup that would work for her network since she was hired on September 30, 2013. Although SBC finished in third place they had one of their biggest daytime averages of the season with many shows hanging around 10 million viewers. Most of the reason why the lineup did well was because Austin Mahone made his highly anticipated NITRO debut holding a public free concert which drew 9.3 million viewers which was very close to beating ICE programming in that same timeslot. This gave them a real good lead-in for a sneak peek of Sam & Brian: Friends which actually didn't bleed and grew. That was the first time we saw a sneak peek in daytime for SBC actually perform that way so this is a good sign that the show could be a hit when it premieres in primetime later in the week. Alexa Chung did pretty well also as her new timeslot may really help her show getting away from The Noon Show on ICE. SBC had a good late afternoon period as well but SBC Girls Super Sexy Show did very well against Sunset Beach at 6pm. It should be interesting next week to see where SBC programs Drama's Place.
SBC will air the World Series late tomorrow afternoon starting starting at 4pm.
ROD finished in first place as they had all of their draft picks except Bridget Malcolm on Hunter & Kacey drawing 17.57 million viewers and the other highlight for ROD was Sunset Beach reaching 20 million viewers as the show's extra exposure on Sunday night seems to be helping already.
ICE was in second place but had an off-day as ICE seems to program daytime based on their primetime lineups we've noticed. ICE could be more competitive on Tuesdays when they throwout their Kelly Green lineup in two weeks.
There's a real chance for the networks to do some damage here as ICE are taking the afternoons off starting on Friday to program a marathon of their Scary ICE lineup of Halloween movies for a week. Networks should definitely take advantage of this before their Love in the Afternoon soap lineup returns on November 1st.
