Oracle Arena
Oakland, CaliforniaNITRO on Saturday celebrates its 5-year anniversary and they do it in style with a record breaking performance from the third installment of the very first NITRO sex special "Megan Fox's 3rd Exotic Sexual Experience" which was taped live from a sold out Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. Megan Fox beat Lyndsy Fonseca's previous record set last week by grabbing 77.88 million viewers placing it as the fourth most watched show in NITRO history currently. Youth of Life which starts this Thursday will try to give it a run for its money. Oracle Arena officials told the media that they actually broke an all-time attendance arena record at the 47 year old historical venue getting 23,078 with 2,000+ standing room only seats. ICE has sold out all of their road venues this season so far and have done it in 2 different SBC country arenas in Miami and Dallas and setting records at least eight of them:
(attendance/arena capacity)
September 14, 2013: Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (22,738/21,315) (broke Draft record from August)
September 21, 2013: Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan (22,440/21,666)
September 23, 2013: American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida (21,300/20,021)
September 29, 2013: AllState Arena in Rosemont, Illinois (20,190/18,500)
October 3, 2013: Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri (19,660/19,252)
October 7, 2013: American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas (21,842/21,146)
October 12, 2013: Oracle Arena in Oakland, California (23,078/20,679)* October 14, 2013: KeyArena in Seattle, Washington (19,552/17,000)
* = Event hasn't happened yet but it is already sold out.
When ICE comes to town it's a hard ticket to get and many analysts believe that the live shows being on the road have really fueled ICE's ratings to another level since they started going on the road for their program tapings in fall 2010. Some of these cities ICE won't be visiting again for the rest of the season so fans are definitely trying to go. Jessica Lowndes stated that at least anywhere between 100,000-1.5 million people try to get tickets to their events in every city they visit in but only around 20,000 get to go unless they visit stadiums for their other events. ROD is going to be going on the road for their comedy tapings starting this Wednesday in Atlanta at Phillips Arena and it should be interesting to see how ROD does there on their attendance but the early word out there is that they are not sold out yet as they've only sold 16,500 tickets so far and they need to reach at least 21,000 by Wednesday so they got 4,500 more tickets to sell. Ashley Greene's rival Jessica Lowndes stated that she could sellout tickets in that market in a matter of minutes and ICE tickets don't go on sale in Atlanta until around Christmas. ROD thinks they can sell the place out since they got plenty of star power coming there with Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire, Stella Sisters, Charlie Sheen, Justin Bieber, and Sara Sampaio just to name a few. This is an important market for ROD since they are trying to cover the south with their new country focus. ICE won't be visiting Atlanta until February 8th for the Panabaker Sisters sex show and The Carpenters Hour the following night so we won't know until then who does better. ROD has booked an arena that ICE has already visited when they go to SBC country in Dallas on November 13th at the same venue American Airlines Center. For ICE every event overseas in Australia and England looks sold out as well and Boston a couple of weeks from now for the next scheduled sex special with Tahj Mowry and the very sexy young Floridian porn star Malena Morgan. It is unclear when SBC will start booking their comedies on the road for tapings.
ICE sold 460 more standing room only tickets over night for the Oakland show thanks to the Hayden Panettiere drama. Britney Powell drew 21,500 fans earlier in the afternoon at the same arena. ICE will be visiting the Bay Area again at the end of the month and in June towards the end of the season.
For the rest of ICE on Saturday in the National Division, their comedy lineup is very strong leading off thanks to the lead-off shows in Jaime and Young Girls and New Girls in Town Pageant is starting to heat up. According to ICE sources this night is being reconstructed in November for the expansion of the Pageant. Babs & Kya also reached a series-high and grew out of Molly in South Philly at midnight proving the show's worth on the schedule.
ROD from the way it looks has not concentrated on this night just yet as they are still working on the rest of the week but they did make some changes in late by adding in the new Gillian & Joannie variety hour in late night which debuted to 40 million viewers. The show didn't have to face Saturday Night Diamond Girls but Megan Fox's sex special is pretty much mainly a variety show so the competition is pretty much the same there.
SBC came in third place as they have some major holes on this night but the one huge positive for them was Growing Pains staying strong at 10pm so for now Growing Pains is working for them still. The comedy lineup is close to hitting average numbers so these ratings aren't too bad but the problem with this lineup is that they have no strong comedies that can compete against ICE's comedies but this lineup is a bit more stable than the one they had to start the season which is why these shows moved from TSN to SBC in the first place. Jennifer Aniston will guest star on Monica next week as it will be a mini-Friends reunion we'll see if that move gets Monica's ratings up past 35 million viewers. SBC got destroyed in late night by Megan Fox.
In the Federal Division, Pink which now becomes PDN on Monday had another division leading night thanks to WFL Football and another good lead-off performance from Battle of the Sexes and ICE Starlets After Dark did 35 million viewers in late night as the network prepares to showcase the beauty pageant contestants after dark with live feeds in a few weeks. TSN actually had a pretty decent night with Ashley Tisdale doing well going into Michaels & Leary and Gimme a Break! which all did well also. Uniworks had a better late night than primetime but this network just isn't drawing very well at all they need some better leadership at the top.
The dominance displayed here by ICE is shown here in the most watched program chart (October 12, 2009-October 12, 2013):
