This is the 37th night of the 2013-14 Television season on Friday October 11, 2013.


National Division - Major league broadcasting networks that are capable of currently reaching 73% of the world with working television sets. That percentage is expected to grow throughout the season as NITRO gets established in 20 more countries. These networks were apart of the original 8 networks back in the summer of 2009. These networks include ICE, SBC, and ROD.

Federal Division - Netlet or minor league broadcasting networks that are only capable of currently reaching 51% of the world with working television sets. This division is home to most of the new networks and second networks of the National Division studios such as Pink (ICE) and TSN (SBC) and these networks are in their first year NITRO in the 2013-14 television season. These networks include PINK, TSN, and Uniworks. TEN might end up in this division but I have to realign the divisions by Monday and we'll know for sure by then.

Very Bad: 0-20 million viewers
Bad: 20-35 million viewers
Average: 35-47 million viewers (bubble shows) (goal is 40 million)
Good: 47-65 million viewers
Very Good: 65+ million viewers (blockbuster shows and record ratings players)
Highest: 86.33 million viewers (record established on October 3, 2013 by Battle of the Network Stars on ICE)


FEDERAL DIVISION RATINGS SCALE:

Very Bad: 0-10 million viewers
Bad: 10-16 million viewers
Average: 16-25 million viewers (bubble shows) (goal is 20 million)
Good: 25-40 million viewers
Very Good: 40+ million viewers (blockbuster shows and record ratings players)

Viewers seem to have use Fridays to take a break away from ICE as SBC and ROD have their best night of the week on Fridays so far this season.

Ashley Greene won her sixth Friday of the season and ROD has come in first place on every single Friday this season mainly because they have a stacked lineup from top to bottom but SBC has three power comedies now but the problem is they have not surrounded these comedies with stronger programs so that SBC can win Friday nights.

LUCY HALE, SARA SAMPAIO, SHEILA CARTER & CARRIE UNDERWOOD ALL = RATINGS!

For ROD they've actually been able to secure these Friday victories because of the way Sara Sampaio's variety hour starts and so far unlike Joel Osmond she's been a pretty good draft pick for Ashley Greene. Sara has not been able to beat Bella Thorne yet but she was able to get 48 million viewers this week and secure the highest rating for her variety show since the premiere a few weeks ago. In the game show battle against Family Game Night over on ICE, The Price Is Right failed behind Sara Sampaio and that was a weak spot that SBC could've exploited had their block been much stronger. Sheila Carter luckily rose big time out of it notching a series high as Sheila Carter is starting to become big time must see television as it's becoming a Dallas for NITRO Friday nights right now. Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Undercover does a great job at retaining most of its audience fitting like a glove out of it. Usually when dramas get this close to 60 million viewers it's much harder to retain that audience we've only seen ICE been able to do that successfully but now these shows are fitting well together.

The biggest acquisition this summer easily has to be Carrie Underwood who has completely changed the identity of ROD turning it into a successful country style type network. Carrie Underwood wasn't anything special over at SBC but she's really given ROD some hope after a bad start to the season for them. Her concert show Country Made which featured ICE Starlet Lucy Hale performing as she continued to contribute to rival network's ratings on Friday after she helped bring in the ratings for SBC's Rosie O'Donnell Show was able to give Country Made their biggest ratings ever and got them to cross 60 million viewers for the first time. ROD has expressed in the past that they want Lucy Hale so bad and if they were able to ever get her that would be huge for them. It'll be hard for them to get her since she is in two hit ICE shows at the moment and she has no plans of leaving ICE but she will be on the free agency market this season. ROD also wants Hayden Panettiere as she will be making a decision by Monday if she will be staying with ICE or going to new studio TEN or ROD.

R.I.P. RANDY TAYLOR

Onto SBC since they had another big Friday night got the night started off right with Miami's Friends which has been doing well at 8pm since it premiered getting average ratings and doing consistently well but the problem came at 8:30pm where Randy Taylor a show the network really believes in may have just died on them. SBC has succeeded with Full House, Step By Step, and Topanga which just got a series high of 59 million viewers but their attempt to revive Home Improvement using Jonathan Taylor Thomas' character has failed on them unfortunately. For whatever reason the show just never really resonated with viewers like the other reboots have. Thankfully for SBC no matter what's in front of Full House that show is drawing big and good news for SBC is that Step By Step doesn't look like a flop either. Rowan Blanchard made a guest star appearance on Topanga but the network already stated that she will be a regular on the show. Comedy Coordinator Steve Harvey has to be real happy about turning around SBC's comedy situation but he has a lot of work to do as Guys with Kids also died out on them. Kelly's Thugs spin-off Heather will be coming to the network on November 1st.

Bella Thorne's Groovy Variety Hour has now passed 50 million viewers and beating her rival and leaving her for dead every week in this non-battle. ICE made the right decision moving the show away from PINK after a strong record showing in the Federal Division last week. ICE's Friday Night Family Game Night bleeds a lot from big lead-ins but it did accomplish beating The Price Is Right which is a good sign. The soaps continue to do well every week but ICE is definitely making this a project night later in the season.

Speaking of the Federal Division, it was a really competitive night as PINK led the way again with WFL Football but SBC edged out Uniworks strongest night of the week. Zendaya may have gotten destroyed by Bella and Sara in that variety war but her variety hour helped beat Uniworks. Michaels & Leary just liked CSI: Los Angeles is doing way better on TSN than on SBC. Uniworks got a huge lift from the premiere of their talent competition Tap Dancer. What killed them was Mockingbird Lane but they have something in The Vampire Chronicles which premiered as their top scripted show of the week so far depending on what happens on Saturday and Sunday. So Uniworks has some pieces to work with in Hellcats, Terry Fator, Tap Dancer, and The Vampire Chronicles. New network TEN debuts on Monday and PINK is going to change its name that same night as well.


Tomorrow will be all about Megan Fox's third sex special on ICE tomorrow night live from Oaktown.
