Christine Lakin (Step By Step) (SBC Universal)FIRST PLACE FINISHES 2013-14 SEASON1. ICE (25) 2. ROD (5) 3. SBC (1) 4. PINK (0) 5. TSN (0) STEP BY STEP IS A HUGE HIT RIGHT OUT OF THE GATEWow the remakes/reboots/revamps of old shows have really bloomed this season in NITRO as Step By Step was the next huge popular return to air on the NITRO Television airwaves on Friday night. Earlier this season we saw the return of Full House give SBC their first ever 60+ million viewer rating then we saw Topanga from Boy Meets World hit 50+ million viewers on a couple of occasions this season. Step By Step was obviously one of the top 5 reboots that we were going to see during the beginning of this fall season. Step By Step was originally supposed to had launched November 1st to avoid the baseball playoffs which will be taking over the network's schedule later this month pre-empting a bunch of shows. The decision to move that premiere up was a good decision but only originally came about because the network had struck out with a bunch of their freshmen comedies during the month of September. ICE had brought back the Must See TV era of comedies this season and now SBC is looking to do the same with TGIF as they are about halfway there with Full House, Topanga, and now Step By Step. They still need to find a few other partners since Randy Taylor and Malibu Country are not working out. Randy Taylor is in a danger zone right now as the show has lost steam and Malibu Country bled hard out of the Step By Step premiere. Fridays are super hard to dominate because ROD's soap/country lineup is starting to really gain new viewers every week with Sheila Carter and Country Made pulling in around 55-60 million viewers right now. ROD came out of top edging SBC despite SBC having some huge numbers out of their three comedies. The difference here was that ROD's lineup from top to bottom was much stronger and much more consistent as Sara Sampaio got the night started off right unlike Randy Taylor which put SBC in a huge hole in that opening hour. SBC will need to find a program that can do well in crucial 8pm hour. Ashley Greene and the help from Carrie Underwood is making a huge difference over there at ROD this season. FRIDAY NIGHT VARIETY WARBELLA SETS NEW FEDERAL DIVISION RECORD OF 48 MILLIONFridays are the perfect night for variety programming that's why almost half of tonight's programming was full of the genre. One of the variety wars that has launched this season has been the 8pm variety war between Bella Thorne, Zendaya, and Sara Sampaio and for the first time since last week's incident in Chicago they faced off head-to-head. Bella right now is hot and she dominated the variety war giving ICE a huge problem where Family Game Night struggled to beat Pink which set a new record in the division topping last week's record breaking performance from Team ICE. The Groovy Variety Hour is coming off of a record setting performance this past Sunday. The problem that ICE is facing right now is whether they should move The Groovy Variety Hour back over to Fridays to help their Friday lineup which is lagging behind SBC and ROD right now. We've Got Each Other, Vancouver Models, and Uptown Murders are all doing well but need a bigger lead-in to avoid 3rd place. Bella's variety show might be too big for PINK right now. Her show was not intended to air as a weekly series but as specials but since the demand was so high ICE started scheduling it every week. Keeping things in the Federal Division, this week has been a strong one and with Uniworks coming soon it is sure to get even hotter. Both TSN and PINK were over 20 million viewers with their lineups as Zendaya's rating actually beat American Juniors this week so that is a new record for the network. The start of the playoffs for Major League Baseball kept the network in good positioning. WFL Football thanks to their huge lead-in got its highest ratings ever.
