Carrie Underwood is having a huge impact on ROD this season providing hits to the network as they had another first place finish. They have won all 4 Fridays in September thanks to their Friday soaps and Country Made in late night.

A new developing situation is starting with SBC Girl G. Hannelius where her agent has been talking to the general managers of ROD and ICE and he says if her next series fails she's leaving. G. Hannelius has been in NITRO since 2010 and hasn't been a top 100 star at any point so her agent is seeing all of this talent around her age in NITRO spiking in popularity and Disney based stars like Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Bella Thorne, and Zendaya Coleman springing to huge success in NITRO. So far it's looking real interesting now with My Dramatic Teenage Life failing right out of the gate.

With Bella Thorne out of the variety war Zendaya got up a series-high on Friday and beat Family Game Night on ICE but lost to ROD's 1st draft pick Sara Sampaio. With no Bella in the picture both shows were up so the speculation continues if one of them set Bella up yesterday morning.

Full House crosses 60 million for the first time since its premiere episode giving Topanga a really good lead-in and Topanga looks strong out of it. SBC had a pretty good night except for My Dramatic Teenage Life.

ICE's first adult series soap "Uptown Murders" starring Erika Jordan is already a huge hit out of the gate thanks to the improved ratings of We've Got Each Other and Vancouver Models in front of it. The show had similar ratings to their big new drama hit in that timeslot Overnight Nurses.


ROD has really found their niche on Fridays and a lot of this thanks to the direction they've gone in with a mixture soaps or a variety behind Carrie Underwood who is really helping Ashley Greene succeed on this night right now. ROD really turned the corner on this night when the Eight Is Enough reboot premiered earlier this month to start the new season and Sheila Carter which had success before the 2012-13 shutdown both came together and took out the ICE soaps and that led to ROD having a stranglehold this whole month on Fridays. ROD added Country Made and Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Undercover as the two country programs created from Carrie Underwood.

ROD's Friday block is looking much stronger with the addition of Sara Sampaio's variety show leading off and that helped ROD beat SBC who had a much stronger block from top to bottom.

Speaking of SBC they have something there with Full House and Topanga to build their comedy blocks around and Step By Step is supposed to be premiering next week so SBC can really rebound some of the comedy failures they've already had this season like My Dramatic Teen Life which might be causing G. Hannelius to leave SBC. SBC at times have scheduled dangerously but Friday is a good example of their good scheduling as they put Topanga behind Full House after Topanga dropped this past Wednesday after its premiere and lost steam. It regained its steam after this one Full House airing right there.

With Bella Thorne having charges pressed against her for her incident on Thursday morning, Zendaya and Sara Sampaio was able to grow this week in their timeslots so both shows are healthy and safe for now.

ICE made an emergency move to bring in Family Game Night a week earlier from its Friday timeslot premiere move. Family Game Night moving to Fridays takes the pressure off from holding that huge Carpenters Hour lead-in. This episode did a nice average number. ICE is making progress with their soaps as getting rid of Hard Choices in this block helped the three soaps behind it including Uptown Murders which did well for ICE's first adult series.


In the Federal Division, Wendy Robertson made her season debut by running her first practice run in preparation for her November time trials for the Winter Athletic Games drew over 30 million viewers and helped WFL Football. TSN improved greatly as Diff'rent Strokes and Gimme a Break! did a nice job in that timeslot as they were the only comedies running in that hour. That lifted their two soaps The House That Love Built and Sex, Loves, and The Southern Belle.

Carrie Underwood (Variety Coordinator): I'm turning around ROD's daytime schedule and now Friday Nights ARE MINES!
