 New Girls in Town Pageant (Paramount Television)FIRST PLACE FINISHES 2013-14 SEASON1. ICE (17) 2. ROD (3) 3. SBC (1) 4. PINK (0) 5. TSN (0) ROD's new throwback teen block brings down SBC's numbers this week but couldn't overtake ICE which was stronger than last week. ROD and SBC had another close finish as ROD barely edged SBC with an average of 40.86 million viewers to SBC's 40.55 million. The LA was able to finish above 50 million viewers and the network got positive results out of their two teen dramas Edgemont and Drugs & Alcohol which grew from their premieres last week. New Girls in Town just like The Carpenters Hour and the comedy block last night was fueled by ICE's first visit to Miami as the whole lineup was up and Pretty Thieves kept almost all of Janit O'Day audiences. Jaws continues to do well but Alexa Chung was down because it faced Saved By the Bell this week and Joel Osmond continues to perform impressively. SBC's block is really strong but now ROD is in the way. Tuesdays are easily the most competitive night of the week to start out this season as the big 3 networks are all averaging over 40 million viewers. ICE still remains the king of this night and it's because they have the strongest lineup from start to finish and the key to these battles might be winning the 8pm hour. In the key TV markets last it was revealed that there was a huge share between Jaws and The Pageant so these two shows are eating each others audiences but nationally The Pageant is still coming out on top and with this week's auditions taking place in Miami they went way up and left Jaws behind. The combo of Janit O'Day and Pretty Thieves continues to dearth everything competing against it but Pretty Thieves better be concerned about competition over on ROD with The L.A. which was only 5 million viewers below Pretty Thieves at 10pm. ROD's quick turnaround on Tuesdays with the installments of Saved By the Bell and The LA is giving the network a real chance to compete on this night and SBC was way down this week as even Joel Osmond's new hit variety show was down as well. It should be interesting next week to see how things play out on this very competitive evening. |
