Carrie Underwood, Country Made (Sony Pictures Television)FIRST PLACE FINISHES 2013-14 SEASON1. ICE (13) 2. ROD (3) 3. SBC (1) 4. QBC (0) 5. TSN (0) 6. Pink (0) 97 million viewers watch the 3-network variety war at 8pm on Friday between Bella Thorne, Sara Sampaio, and Zendaya. Bella Thorne ended up winning the war by 3.6 million viewers over Sara Sampaio. ROD's new hit late night variety series "Country Made" was only 2 million viewers behind Full House for the evening's most watched show. Due to the NITRO War we have established a lot of rivalries between network programs this season and a lot of viewers say everything has gotten even better once NITRO went to a 3-network race war because QBC was never apart of the studio battles so now all of the programs have a special motivation now. A rivalry that's been brewing was born from this year's draft back in August when SBC drafted Joel Osmond first overall and ROD taken Sara Sampaio second overall. Both rookies were given their own self-titled variety shows and they have had great starts so far but the Bella vs. Zendaya war was born back in 2012 and it carried over to this season when ICE started running her variety specials and SBC placed their variety airings of Zendaya's dance show against her so now that brings us to Friday night where there was a huge 3-way war between the three variety shows. Bella ended up winning the war giving her ICE Starlets huge bragging rights that they are still the best draw on NITRO Television right now as she beat Sara Sampaio by 3.6 million viewers but the surprise here is not that Bella won at the top it's the fact that Sara Sampaio beat Zendaya soundly to take second place. Zendaya's star power with SBC seems to not be a strong as it should be as her variety show got Joey type ratings in that slot. The show just like Bella's is moving to the Federal Division on TSN in October. Since ROD doesn't have a second network right now Sara's show will remain on the main network but it will need a permanent timeslot right now and ROD has a whole lot of timeslots available after Ashley Greene made a bunch of cancellations on her schedule last week. ROD is looking at building the network around Sara's show which is capable of doing more than 40 million viewers per episode this season. ROD only has three first place finishes since through the first 16 nights of the season and all three of them have come on Fridays where ICE doesn't run their powerful programming. Even though SBC has Full House they haven't beat ROD on this night so far since ROD has a good strategy here of programming soaps and Southern style programming that emulates CBS' programming style back in the early 80s when they ran Dallas and The Dukes of Hazzard. When Ashley Greene took over she quickly made a trade for both Carrie Underwood and Scotty McCreery and won the rights to Kacey Musgraves to build a country presence on the network and it has taken shape so far as they have found a new goldmine called "Country Made" which is setup to be a long-term late night staple for the network on weekend nights. Country Made was only two million viewers behind Full House at midnight so this is something that ROD can continue to build on. Speaking of Full House on SBC it kept most of its premiere audience which is a really good sign going forward that this will be a real force for the network. The Gabrielle & Terri Shields Variety Show already proved itself to be the real deal leading off to start the season so it really didn't need the Full House lead-in but it got some extra sampling and SBC needed to find something to makeup for Pretty Wild's bleeding. SBC also got a chance to find out that Full House is capable of being a good lead-in for their half-hour programs. Gabby & Terri seems to be getting a lot of that Tracy's 3 Girls audience that ICE used to get a couple of seasons back when the show was programmed on Fridays before moving to late night slots on Saturdays. Gabby & Terri's retention numbers were huge as well as it maintained 92% of Full House's audience which was better than the less than half audience watching Pretty Wild last week. Michaels & Leary retention was a bit concerning as SBC is planning on moving the show later this fall. ICE came in third place as they are struggling finding any dominance on this night but Daytime President Rebecca Herbst who actually has done a great job building up their daytime division and found Jessica Lowndes a new hit in Overnight Nurses which did really well again tonight is responsible for programming this night and unlike ROD hasn't gotten a really flow in their soap lineup so expect changes here. Bella Thorne's variety series is not a permanent occupant in that 8pm slot as it will move to Pink after next week so ICE will need to find a good 8pm player. In the Federal Division, Pink continues to find traction with WFL Football as they got another 20-30 million viewing rating out of it and TSN continues to struggle but they might have something with "Sex, Lies, and The Southern Belle" in the future as the show kept the same audience the week before.

Jenny Sense (SBC Popular Girls, left), Kya Summers (ICE Starlets, right)Top 25 stars Jenny Sense, Barbara Palvin, and Kya Summers are all featured in a set of huge comedy premieres Miami's Friends over on SBC featuring Jenny Sense and Priscilla Martin against ICE's Babs & Kya featuring unconvicted murderers Barbara Palvin and Kya Summers. Jenny Sense will be making her official SBC debut on Saturday night for the first time since being traded from her first and only studio Roderick Sony Alliance. Priscilla Martin after a couple of unsuccessful runs with ICE and ROD will be going back to the studio that made her a top 25 star back in 2010 and her journey back to the top 25 starts on Saturday with the premiere of Miami's Friends. Barbara Palvin and Kya Summers will be starring in their own comedy for the first time in their careers as they team up in this new comedy set in Detroit based on their real life experiences as adolescences growing up in the city of Detroit before training in Keith Jan Lewis' modeling development system in Philadelphia. Both comedies are among the top 10 most anticipated new comedies of the season so we expect some heavy sampling numbers but there could be a problem here as the competition on ROD is not light as they will run for the third straight week late Saturday afternoon audition sessions from The Carpenters Hour Juniors and it draws the same type of audience in that 8pm hour which ICE came into season knowing could be difficult as they want to see what kind of draw Young Girls will be in its second week. Little Darlings is expected not to draw too many viewers since its moving daytime starting on Monday so Young Girls will have to do a hell of a job growing out of it in order to maintain last week's rating. Babs & Kya will be opposing Super Crews on ROD which has struggled this season and the premiere of Chase & Zoey which is a Zoey 101 spin-off and Randy Taylor so it will be interesting to see what happens there. Also Tracy's 3 Girls and Molly in South Philly look to draw some big numbers later in the night. ROD made a late replacement to Aisha & Jenny in late night by running The L.A. preview an hour earlier and running an extra repeat episode of The O.C. behind it. The L.A.'s huge premiere starts on Sunday night behind NFL action and Saved By the Bell. ICE is said to be nearing a final decision on which comedy Aisha Williams will star in either Bad Times or Youth of Life. The big splash was made recently when Paris Jackson was added to the cast of Youth of Life. ICE is taping all of their live shows tonight from Joe Louis Arena in Detroit which is a homecoming for some of its most popular ICE Starlets. Molly Ephraim celebrated her homecoming last Saturday in Philadelphia. ICE is headed to Miami tomorrow and Monday some people think the Starlets will get booed since that is SBC country. Jenny Sense is expected to pop-up in some of SBC's late night programming on SBC Stars After Dark and The Popular Girls Late Night Show while Aisha Williams will be initiated publicly into becoming a Diamond Girls member so both of them will be opposing each other in the 1am hour.
