Fuck Katy Perry (Sony Pictures Television)FIRST PLACE FINISHES 2013-14 SEASON1. ICE (12) 2. ROD (2) 3. SBC (1) 4. QBC (0) 5. TSN (0) 6. Pink (0) It was a pretty close race on Wednesday night and probably one of the tightest races we've seen all season between the big 3 networks ICE, SBC, and ROD. ICE won the overall night but SBC wasn't very far behind as they had a huge surprise in their ratings as their comedy block had a strong start and so did their new bad girls genre drama Tough Chick. The network that invented the bad girls genre ICE got another huge number from Kelly's Thugs scoring over 50 million viewers which was on an island on its own but Bradleys vs. Van Horns on its new night did a pretty good job leading off. ICE is currently looking for a permanent occupant in the 10pm timeslot but on Wednesday they aired a PM North America special to talk about their latest moves with Katy Perry, Matt LeBlanc, and Aisha Williams. SBC had a really good Wednesday and their best Wednesday since the 2012 Olympics and best in-season Wednesday in network history thanks to a pair of Boy Meets World spin-off series debuts from Cory & Shawn which scored 37 million viewers and Topanga which drew 44 million viewers both comedies gained around 11 million viewers out of its lead-ins. Pregnant Teen came back around SBC's average for comedies and Simply Sam surprisingly dropped from Cory & Shawn but remained over 30 million viewers. Now that SBC has a bunch of new hit comedies this fall the network can see what comedies fit where on the schedule the best but since their rival networks aren't programming comedies this is a good night for comedies for them either way. Tough Chick which stars Maxie Justice was able to prove her haters wrong as her drama went up to close to 50 million viewers and even though it didn't directly face Kelly's Thugs it almost beat it. SBC went with the smarter approach and place Tough Chick an hour after Kelly's Thugs went off. For those ICE viewers that didn't want to watch the PM North America special they were able to sample a show that was in that bad girls genre. We'll see how all of these SBC shows do after their premieres next week. ROD had another solid outing out of Star Girl which is doing really well for them but needs some shows behind it but ROD is readjusting their whole schedule and went with a 2-hour special focused on Katy Perry just like ICE did. In the Federal Division, TSN went with a burn-off of the 13-episode series The Neighborhood that completely bombed out and Pink had a decent night for their returning series. Tomorrow is Thursday and that means Angry Landlords debuts on ICE's new must see TV block of live comedies. Katy Perry makes her SBC debut tomorrow night at 11pm with a pair of specials. ROD's two successful comedies to start the fall High School Dropouts and Uncle Charlie & Jenny return. Also in the Federal Division over on Pink, WFL Football's kicks off their third season of action.
