Sara Sampaio Variety Hour (Sony Pictures Television)FIRST PLACE FINISHES 2013-14 SEASON1. ICE (10) 2. ROD (2) 3. SBC (1) 4. QBC (0) 5. TSN (0) 6. Pink (0) Tuesdays have started out very well for SBC this season and as a matter of fact it might just be depending on what happens this Friday with Full House their strongest night of the week along with of course Sunday Night Football. The problem is ICE is also very good on Tuesdays and it's Janit O'Day's night so that's always makes it challenging to be placed first on the night. Pretty Thieves is continuing to look very impressive as it is keeping an amazing 98.3% of Janit's lead-in that is a dream for every network's new series when they place those shows behind strong lead-ins. These two shows fit together like a glove. Just because Pretty Thieves is a spin-off of O'Day doesn't necessarily always mean the show will please the latter show's audience but so far in this Janit O'Day franchise which includes Kelly's Thugs as well they're off to a great start with Fugitive at 17 and Heather still coming later this fall. Both shows are due to premiere in October. New Girls in Town auditions continue to be a draw for ICE as the auditions took place in Russia featuring a bunch of Russian and European contestants got 43 million viewers edging Jaws on SBC which dropped a bit from the premiere but still landed over 40 million viewers giving Alex Chung a good lead-in and Alexa Chung continues to be strong against Janit O'Day and beat Super Crews on ROD. Earlier in the night on ROD they premiered two new half-hour teen dramas which is sort of a new genre for prime time in NITRO as these were more like afterschool type programs that you would see in the daytime but both Edgemont which is a reboot of the 2000s Canadian series and Drugs & Alcohol each scored 27 million viewers so they were very compatible with each other. Both shows debuted last week as ROD Afterschool Specials. If these numbers hold or grow each week they will be keepers for ROD. JOEL OSMOND & SARA SAMPAIO ARE NOT DRAFT BUSTS!The #1 and #2 picks of the draft Joel Osmond and Sara Sampaio got tested early this season as both have successful comedies on the air and now have passed the big test of being to launch their self-titled variety series. Joel Osmond's series held up well outdrawing Jaws earlier in the night and beating Sara Sampaio's premiere show which was the highest rated show for ROD on the night. Sara has another big test later this week when her variety series goes against Bella Thorne and Zendaya Coleman on Friday. Not too much going in the Federal Division as QBC is about to be on the way out of NITRO. ICE's little sister network Pink had a very good second night as the network did not start out as low as TSN did last week as returning variety series Tuesday Night Jem got almost 25 million viewers on Tuesday against the two variety shows in National Division.
