 One Day at a Time (1977) (CBS) (Sony Pictures Television) (Paramount Television, 2013-present)FIRST PLACE FINISHES 2013-14 SEASON1. ICE (7) 2. ROD (1) 3. SBC (0) 4. QBC (0) 5. TSN (0) ICE on Thursday nights is easily becoming NITRO's Must See TV network as ICE started dominating the Thursday night landscape with their Paramount Pretty Comedies (PPC) back in 2012 and they have continued to develop their audiences to the masses. ICE made a late change deciding to double up the live taping of One Day at a Time at Paramount Hall in Toronto forcing the network to pre-empt the premieres of DJ Becky and Bad Times which going to debut later this month or in October. SBC, ROD, and QBC all have scheduled comedy blocks to go against ICE's powerhouse lineup that extends into late night but they are nowhere near close to competing with that lineup. In a developing story right now we've gotten word that the popular 70s/80s hit sitcom "One Day at a Time" reboot on ICE last night scored a record-setting 72 million viewers for its premiere pair of episodes. We have seen the reboots here in NITRO this season have a successful run as Saved By the Bell started the trend last week and we've got a ton of reboots coming throughout this season including the announcement of The OC reboot on ROD in the next couple of weeks. That record setting performance from One Day at a Time made it the most watched scripted program in the 5-year history of NITRO Television surpassing the new record set just last week by Actors which grabbed 70.11 million viewers. One Day at a Time is also now the 4th most watched program in NITRO also at the moment ranking only behind The Carpenters Hour and Diamond Girls. ICE also set a new network average ratings record of averaging 65.46 million viewers for the Thursday night lineup. ALLISON SHIELDS = RATINGS!Earlier in the night Teen Angels kept most of their premiere audience from the week before as Teen Angels is rating in as potentially the most watched or one of the most watched 8:00 dramas on NITRO right now. Ally is a fucking beast going up to over 60 million viewers helping out Bastard Kids which successfully grew out of it. One thing we noticed was once the Paramount Pretty Comedies took the air the competing networks ratings went down sharply in that hour. Sabs and Actors did a great job with their record setting performances later to cap off the night's lineup. A huge win right here for Jessica Lowndes and company. The dominance displayed here by ICE is shown here in the most watched program chart (October 12, 2009-September 12, 2013): For the rest of the networks the results were pretty bad as ROD actually had a tale of two nights. Their opening hour with High School Dropouts and Uncle Charlie & Jenny got off to a great start hammering the SBC and QBC comedy lineups in that hour drawing over 40 million viewers. Sara Sampaio is off to a really good start for her rookie season just like Joel Osmond and Kyla Ray. Ashley Greene just ordered a variety series that will debut on Tuesday for Sara. The rest of the lineup was beyond disappointing as Wild Taxi and The Sweathogs did bad enough to get cancelled. The promising Aisha Williams series The Detention Center was affected by the One Day at a Time premiere and will be moved to a different night and Agent Lily which capped the night bled out of the lead-in leading to its cancellation. Bad night for ROD except the opening hour. SBC had a disaster night also but just like ROD had a solid opening hour with Single at Fifty and Monica but both shows should be over 30 million viewers at this point. Joey which got into a mess was a cancellation victim also after a scoring a series-low 23 million viewers bleeding heavily out of Single at Fifty and this was the third showing of the season and it led to Matt LeBlanc changing studios and going to ICE as he left his Friends mate Courteney Cox behind to go with the enemy Jessica Lowndes. Facebook which is Kaitlyn Dever and Joel Osmond's official comedies got off to a great start growing 10 million viewers out of the lead-in despite having to go against Bastard Kids. It also outdrew the two veteran comedies Single at Fifty and Monica. So good start for Facebook no doubt about it but where will it ultimately settle in at? The ex-ICE series Drama's Place had a good start to its third season but the show actually performed below what it was supposed to do which was to score between 45-50 million viewers but One Day at a Time had a huge effect on its performance. QBC had some bad results also but Book of the Week and The Goal remained over 20 million viewers. Most of the block will not last a long time as there is just too much competition for these comedies to stop the bleeding. QBC was the only comedy block on Thursday that's comedies were taped and not live and you already know that evil witch Jessica Lowndes leaked the spoilers for those shows. Dance War which was successful at the start of the previous season before the rest of the 2012-13 season got wiped out might've been affected by that so Dance War's numbers were way down but airing on TSN also didn't help as the show came in way beyond DOA. As mentioned before Pink will debut on Monday to open up International Division play. Tomorrow we will have the huge premiere of Full House in the main game on SBC while ROD and ICE continue their soap blocks as ROD will bring back their new hits Eight Is Enough and Sheila Carter to try and get strong second episode performances. Simply Sam which is another huge new SBC comedy debuts tomorrow as well and Pretty Wild which is Kaitlyn Dever's second comedy will have a huge night that determines that show's future. QBC will bring back Breaking News and Pilot Season to see if they can build on their premiere performances. It's possible that SBC can finally beat ICE for the first time this season tomorrow and can ROD beat SBC for their second first place finish of the season or will SBC get a first place finish tomorrow for the first time this season. |

woah One Day at a Time is a monster, when will we the show in the eppy gm? Yeah it sure is I didn't expect it to debut this well. I got another hit to play with on my schedule. I'm using both games to figure out what is going to end up on the schedules. I was using the main game to see if it was worth writing episodes for One Day at a Time. It will be in the episode game once I find a spot to fill. |
