Tahj Mowry is the co-host of New Girls in Town Pageant (Paramount Television)It was genre battle Monday as both networks decided to throw out their reality competitions and bad girl shows against each other. ICE ended up winning the battle pretty handily as they're built-in audience for The Carpenters Hour is just way too strong right now and that really hurt The Sing War which pretty much failed. SBC's struggles of finding the right talent competition to rival The Hour continues but the ratings overall weren't bad enough to cancel the series it's just weak against The Hour it could still be a player for SBC this season. The Carpenters Hour gave ICE's new monster talent program New Girls in Town Pageant the lead-in support it needed but maybe too much support as it actually topped all of the 3-night premiere airings that The Hour had as New Girls in Town was the second most viewed ICE program this season so far only trailing Diamond Girls' 25 million viewers on Saturday night and that program still remains the most watched program on NITRO this season so far through the first 7 nights. The Pageant provides ICE with another option they can use to establish their other programming as most Pageant viewers are The Hour viewers so the two shows will be monsters in their timeslots most likely the remainder of the season. The Pageant contributed to a second hour drop from The Sing War which hurt it even more. SBC had better success in the bad girls genre with the debut of Tough Chick which lost to Kelly's Thugs but still remained in the competitive loop in that slot grabbing a solid 14.25 million viewers. Since Kelly's Thugs had a higher lead-in SBC should feel great about Tough Chick's rating. Kelly's Thugs just like its mothership Janit O'Day is a dominating dangerous drama that will be hard to take down right now. With Monday being all ICE and SBC productions, both QBC and ROD comeback into play tomorrow night. Tuesday will be the first night that SBC gives to QBC from top to bottom so we'll see how SBC fares and if they can defeat ICE only happened once this season last Wednesday. QBC will bring back Good Morning, New York!, Unplugged, and Scarecrow to see if audiences comeback to them while western drama Redemption premieres as QBC brings back the western genre back to television. ICE and ROD are sharing the night as Sara Sampaio's successful comedy High School Dropouts will be paired with Uncle Charlie & Jenny in front of Janit O'Day and night two of the Pageant premiere closing out the night.
