Tiffany Giardina on the set of Janit O'Day in Philadelphia, PA (The ICE Phederation)FIRST PLACE FINISHES 2013-14 SEASON1. ICE (4) 2. ROD (1) 3. SBC (0) 4. QBC (0) 5. TSN (0) Premiere week continues on the networks as the audiences are really coming out in droves to return to watch their favorite NITRO shows for the first time since the 2012 reboot season. We've seen some new records set in these first five days of the season and Monday continued that trend. ALLISON SHIELDS = RATINGS!Let's go through some important history here as NITRO's top drama the past 3 seasons has been Michael Bradeson's "Janit O'Day" which really changed the game in NITRO when it debuted with elements of The Wire on display way back on Monday October 12, 2009. The show was built as a drama vehicle for Allison Shields' skyrocketing career that same summer and that pretty much put ICE into top positioning as NITRO's most watched network after they struggled badly during the summer finding an audience. A lot of people believe that summer really motivated Pat Devine to turn ICE into monster that fall and use Allison Shields star power as a foundation to build around. This is the show that really drove ICE apart away from those other competing networks that season. The show also established a new genre called the bad girls genre and that genre has really taken over the NITRO scene as during the first four days of the season there was at least a couple of shows that aired that were inside of that genre. NITRO viewers around the world started to develop an obsession of seeing young attractive females as bad dangerous people which is something that you rarely saw on television before NITRO got established. That genre sort of created a culture that NITRO pretty much identifies with during this war and Janit O'Day can be blamed for a lot of that creating culture for showing these young females in a bad light. Back to the ratings at hand here Janit O'Day was able to clinch a series-high 66 million viewers behind the debut of what could be another game changer in NITRO as ICE is taking us on a season-long journey of finding out how it is to be a development model in NITRO trying to get into their acting career through a weekly pageant that's being displayed as a talent competition and variety show but right now the audition process just kicked off in Philadelphia and the pageant delivered 47 million viewers. Now New Girls in Town is off to a healthy start but it had some competition on ROD with The Carpenters Hour Juniors which was scheduled directly up against it and it outscored Super Crews again. ROD might be onto some success here for their new crime drama soap "Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Undercover" which debut to 37 million viewers making it the top new scripted program of the night. The show was recreated from a failed pilot that aired on ICE a couple of years ago and Ashley Greene revived the series to reflect the country scene that the studio is establishing behind Carrie Underwood. Through the first five days of the season, Ashley Greene has really taken ROD to the next level already. For the rest of the competition, SBC remained in third place with a solid Monday lineup that scored probably a few million viewers lower than expectations had them at but this was not a night of premieres and the competition was way too tough. The concern here is that SBC has lost head-to-head against ICE every night this season so far so SBC needs to step their game up. QBC may have found their biggest scripted hit to build around as "The Blue Line" grabbed the biggest rating on the network for scripted programming during the first five days and the first to clear 30 million viewers and what made this rating more impressive is that the second half-hour had to go against Janit O'Day which are similar shows dealing with the drug dealing game. QBC now knows how to build around The Blue Line. This was a special airing of Janit O'Day so they don't have to move the show away from Mondays. Unfortunately earlier in the night for QBC was not positive as LA Noire bombed right out of the gate, this will likely be QBC's first cancellation of the season at some point this fall. Noirs are a tough sell to broad NITRO Television viewers as they tend to work better as movies than television series. With QBC now finding out about The Blue Line's success they can easily find something more compatible with it. Catching Fire also had some really bad slippage there so we don't really know how to describe the show's future at this moment in time. SBC's new netlet TSN which replaces MRA launched its services on Monday but the network is already in trouble as these are some dangerous low ratings and the regular series may not be getting the competitive numbers that they are looking for as audiences are already tied in with the big 4 networks. ICE may have taken the more smart approach in taking their time to launching their netlet PINK which replaces DV and find out what slots work on the main network first. SBC sort of rushed the launch of TSN and it is hurting them badly already out of the gate. All SBC can do from here is just work on growing TSN and accept the tough start they're going to have for now. Tomorrow will see more star power as the 2-night premiere of Janit O'Day continues as Janit will have her timeslot premiere. We also learned that ROD is delaying the starts of their new half-hour teen soaps by another week by extending the Super Crews auditions to 2 hours of coverage. Huge night is coming up for SBC as Jaws makes its debut as potentially the most anticipated new drama of the season and Joel Osmond makes his regular season debut with his new variety show. So far his rivals Sara Sampaio is off to a great start over at ROD with High School Dropouts and Kyla Ray was on Janit O'Day. QBC has a huge night as well as the anticipated start of their reality competition Master of the Arts which has to deal with going against New Girls in Town Pageant, Super Crews, and Jaws in that hour. Turn It to 11 is also highly-anticipated and is a reality competition for music will air right after it. Apocalypse drama Lights On, Lights Off caps off the night for QBC. TSN starts their regular programming lineup with NITRO War Update and game show 1 vs. 100 which both could actually deliver some higher numbers but there is a cap limit on the network.

Big Prox good history overview on Janit O'Day this is the show that I have to admit that took ICE to the next level during that first full season.

Was amazed at how well The Blue Line did. Hopefully this can become massive and remain at those great ratings. LA Noire we were very disappointed with as personally we love the concept, but hope that it gets larger numbers in its next airing.
