NITRO AMERICAN HEADQUARTERS (Washington, D.C.) - NITRO Commissioner Superintendent Moynahan, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, and NITRO TV networks have released their new television schedule for the NFL during the coming season and we begin here with week 1 as the announcing coverage teams for each game this weekend have been announced.
TCC vs. ROD vs. ICE (SUNDAY AFTERNOON BATTLE)Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will be manning the A-game for TCC in San Francisco and they will bring with them their new co-color commentator Danny DeVito along with Erin Andrews doing the sideline reporting duties and Kate Upton hosting the game from the stands with the hostile crowds. Rival ROD will throw out Jim Nantz and Phil Simms and joining them will be new color commentator LL Cool J along with Lily Aldridge doing the sideline reporting duties and Hannah Simone hosting from the game out there in St. Louis. ICE's Wide World of Sports will take their TV cameras and production team down to New Orleans as Eddie Money and Jerry Rice are on the call and joining them will be some ICE Starlets power with Alyssa Milano commenting with Jerry Rice along with Sara Carbonero on the sidelines and new ICE hottie Génesis Rodríguez doing hosting duties from inside of the Mercedes Superdome.
The A-games on the opening Sunday of the season will be competitive as the sideline and hosting duos will fight for male viewers as TCC has the blonde combo of Erin Andrews (35) and Kate Upton (21) while ROD has the dark skin beauties Lily Aldridge (27) and Hannah Simone (32) and ICE will have international Starlets Sara Carbernero (29) and Cuban's Génesis Rodríguez (25). There's more youth on the ICE side but the ages of these sideline reporters and hosts are pretty close to each other ranging form 21 to 35 years old so we'll definitely have to see how this actually plays out in terms of viewers. The biggest drawing power will be the games themselves and TCC has the first national doubleheader weekend of the season so they are expected to win the ratings war between these three networks but as we all know in NITRO things work differently where viewers will watch their favorite network regardless of what game is on unless its their hometown team or something.
The ladies in these announcing teams are the huge draw in every NFL game so this is going to really be important to see which studio can have the bragging rights by season's end.
The B-games are going to be the same story but a little different twist as the three games scheduled are expected to be very close when it comes to ratings so the difference will be the networks and their announcing team. Every network has a different style in their NFL coverage and we see that some networks play to the casuals and some play to the hardcore football viewers. Thom Brennaman leads a FOX style troop squad in Buffalo with Cameron Diaz hosting. ROD throws out veterans Greg Gumbel and Dan Dierdorf but Charlie Sheen's brother Emilio Estevez will help on commentary while veteran ex-players Steve Tasker and Tony Siragusa handle the sideline and hosting duties out there in Charlotte. ICE will be in Chicago as there will be a huge homecoming for Chicagoans Mike Ditka, Jim Belushi, and Susannah Collins who will all work the game from home at Soldier Field. Helping them will be Jay Mohr who makes his play-by-play debut and Hayden Panettiere provides the huge star power at the game as she will have hosting duties.
Every network is adding a pretty good element to their announcing crews for the B-games so this should be a close race. The real difference makers will be Cameron Diaz who has become popular since joining TCC last year and Hayden Panettiere who is a top 25 actor in NITRO so her fanbase should provide ratings for ICE. When you look at it also the markets will play a role as well as TCC will play to the Boston and New England regions well as Western New York and Toronto but ICE is a Toronto network so will they watch the biggest media market of the three games with Chicago and ROD will have to depend on the viewers in Seattle and Carolina to make the difference there.
When it comes to the rest of the announcing teams the standouts start in Detroit where ICE Starlets Jenn Sterger and Alexis Dziena will be both in the Motor City working that game and more star power in Indianapolis as Jesse Williams, ICE Starlets Kimberly Matula and Brooklyn Decker will all be there. For ROD they have Rebecca Moore and Jason Taylor in Cleveland and Chrissy Teigen will be in hot Jacksonville. TCC has Scarlett Johansson in Pittsburgh and in New York Will Arnett be in town. Should be interesting there.
For the night games SBC goes with tradition as Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth will work with Michelle Tafoya and Mario Lopez will host. UNO has not announced a host for their second Monday night game but Mila Kunis will host the first one in DC and Chucky Gruden will hold tradition with Mike Tirico as well in the Washington game.
It should be very interesting but these announcing teams will be the difference in these ratings more than the games themselves in NITRO.
Coverage begins Sunday September 8, 2013 at noon.
Note: A-games are the main games of the day for the afternoon NFL networks (ROD, ICE, TCC) and the B-games are the second main games of the day.
