THE CARPENTERS HOUR CLEARS 30 MILLION VIEWERSA lot of people were at home watching the tube in daytime and late night hours as this was the first time all season that the NITRO schedule started before 7pm or went on after 11pm. NITRO officials confirmed this same schedule for the next BOTNS event in early June. NITRO Television's first big super event since the reboot back in February delivered some untouchable blockbuster ratings for TCC as the first Battle of the Network Stars event since April 2010 grabbed 50 million viewers on Thursday night. This event lived up to the hype as all of the NITRO stars were in the same place at once for the first time also so there was more than enough star power from all of the fanbases in this program. BOTNS completely dominated the night knocking a lot of ratings down from 6-11pm on the competing networks. TCC no doubt about it benefited the whole day having the best ratings day on NITRO as they even surpassed the big ratings record that Lyndsy Fonseca pulled a couple of days ago on ICE. Their usual Thursday drama lineup which needed a boost got a huge sampling behind BOTNS so lets see if these shows will benefit starting next Thursday. Chris Hemsworth who has thrown his weight around in the studio battles may bring enough viewers like Nathalia Ramos did with Cynthia. Jack Nicholson's The Willows had a positive rating barely dropping from I'm Sane so that's a positive sign there for TCC. Another huge event on Thursday night took place in overtime hours in late night with Super Crews vs. The Carpenters Hour that aired on ROD where the two biggest music competitions in NITRO went head to head against each other. The format played out similar to BOTNS but was music instead of sports. This program actually did pretty well as it got 30 million viewers. It may become a regular event for the two shows and we may see other reality competitions go head to head against each other in the future. Thursday was a day for the stars as the documentaries that aired before BOTNS got some huge numbers and none of them did bad despite going against in the same timeslot during daytime. Allison Shields' documentary got the most attraction on ICE but it didn't have to go against stiff competition as it aired at 5pm and the same for Nathalia Ramos at 3pm. NITRO Stars premiered huge as this is the first series premiere to clear over 20 million viewers. It was simulcast over on ICE from TCC's feed. |
