It was another slow weekend at the summer box office as the holdovers ruled again.

The Western Shootout did the best of the new releases but was one of the most unsuccessful summer releases for Paramount this summer.

Both The Adventures of Kady & Franklin from Universal and Bigger Than Us from Warner Bros. finished with really bad openings.

Nice Girls still remains in control of the box office as it topped the charts for the third week in a row and Wanda Toronto still remains a top 5 movie of the charts.

This next box office weekend is expected to be the most competitive of August with three new releases including the debut of Jason Voorhees from Camp Crystal Lake at the NITRO box office.

Six Flags of Death (Universal)

This was a boring week at the box office as every release was a bomb but next week looks really interesting.

Nice Girls is dominating the top of the charts.

I'm so proud of my major movies of the summer like Nice Girls, Wanda Toronto, and Jaws Reborn doing so well and staying in the top 10.

The Western Shootout was a flop right out of the gate but it should make it to $150 million at the end of its run.

It should be interesting to see how next week plays out as I have no idea how Camp Crystal Lake's Birthday is going to do as I hope Friday the 13th helps out sales.
