Background Information:
ICE Studios signed Brian De Palma to take on this original take on the horror genre with a movie that would be able to set the new standards in the horror game during the next decade. De Palma decided to hire Michael Bradeson's main female protégé Whitney Price to help him plan the movie. They use David Koepp to help write the film and give the movie its mysterious effect. Rose McGowan who is known for taking dark roles in Hollywood decides to use that experience to direct a suspenseful flick of her own with Brian De Palma's blessing on one of his latest projects. Rose just so happens to be one of De Palma's favorite actresses. The two together share thrust for the tradition of Italian gory horror stories that was made famous by filmmaker Dario Argento. The movie Twin Sisters was made to break the lines of so many films of that genre who had previously broken the before but unlike many of those movies this one had a plot that was more on the drama side. With Rose's connections to many of the actors at ICE Studios she decided to cast Allison Shields who had a twin sister Terri Shields at that back in the late summer of '09 who was trying to break into the industry. Allison was already quickly becoming NITRO's most popular actress and the biggest draw ratings wise so Rose decided to cast her and her sister in the role serial killing twin roles. The location was perfect as it took place in always cloudy with a chance of rain Seattle and that mysterious Pacific Northwest setting. The last 40 minutes of this film are a joyride and non-stop thrillfest of creepiness as the twin sisters turn Sunday into torture day. You might want to keep your eyes closed during the last 8 minutes of this film because the twins are making cinema history with the most deftifying eerie scene ever made and one of the most surprising twists fulfilled with a cliffhanger to remember. The twist will be revealed after the film is released to the public.
