Denver - ICE Studios is in full conditioning down at the Winter Athletic Games during this opening weekend in the very beautiful city of Denver, Colorado. ICE Studios was also very busy inking a huge deal with Paramount Pictures to merge with both high-powered entertainment companies.
ICE Studios encloses that the deal will give ICE Studios access to the Paramount Pictures, DreamWorks skg., and Paramount Television enterprises and libraries through Friday June 25, 2010 for free then the two sides will work on a new long-term deal that could be worth billions. ICE Studios is also giving themselves a brand new slogan called, "Superior Entertainment!" The slogan comes from the word Paramount meaning superior or high-power or high-ranking. ICE Studios refers to themselves as being the chief network of NITRO Television and NITRO Box Office.
ICE Studios will be producing all of their television programs under the Paramount Television Service name starting on Wednesday February 3, 2010 with shows like Janit O'Day, Youth of Life, Queen of Motown, Tammy Angel, The Heartland's Family, Joan of Arcadia, and other programs airing that night. ICE Studios will still be used as the main distributor for all of these shows.
Other Paramount Television programs such as MTV's Real World, NICK's iCarly, SPIKE's Blue Mountain State, Comedy Central's Sarah Silverman Program, and Showtime's The L Word have all been dealt to ICE Networks for rerun rights. Sarah Silverman program will actually be playing first run episodes on Tuesdays this mid-season on MBC.
Paramount Pictures has plans on building another billion-dollar studio in Toronto and one in Vancouver to produce World Pictures releases. World Pictures is the major distributor movie service from ICE Studios. The studio already is half-finished in Vancouver and is already producing many movies while also producing movies in ICE Studios Television Center in Toronto. Both buildings are expected to be completed by fall 2012.
The deal between Paramount and ICE Studios has been in the works for at least a year now but all the terms needed to be configured first and ICE Studios needed to focus on launching their enterprise on television first before talks continued in December.
All World Pictures movies will serve under the Paramount Pictures motion movie company name starting on Friday February 5, 2010 with the highly-anticipated release of Star Girl. The studio's first major picture.
World Pictures titles from the ICE's Special Treat franchise for TV movies have all been produced under the Paramount Pictures name.
Paramount Pictures has given ICE Studios Networks free access to most of their television and movie library. Those are titles released before 2008. Saturday Night Fever is expected to be the first Paramount release to air on ICE Networks in February. ICE Studios has mentioned that Saturday Night Fever will air annually on the networks as a tradition. The Godfather will also be making its debut on ICE Networks this coming spring. The Friday the 13th franchise has already been sold to ICE Networks and a new Jason release is expected to be released.
Paramount Television is moving forward on three projects from ICE Studios Joan of Arcadia which was brought a month ago from the original MBC and Sony Television to ICE Networks. Reruns are being shown currently on MBC and new episodes are being produced for a launch date on Wednesday February 3, 2010. The second project is going to be the 1980 coming of age classic Little Darlings which was already sold to ICE Studios way back in the summertime. Little Darlings will be getting a makeover as the entity will be remade in theaters and ready for an early spring release. Little Darlings is also going to be turned into a television series and is expected to be launched in mid-season and will come to daytime this fall on ABC10. Same goes for the Bad News Bears which will get revamped into another movie and television series but the television series will be a bit more expansive.
Paramount Home Entertainment will also be re-releasing many Paramount titles on DVD with ICE Studios in blu-ray quality.
Statement from Paramount president Randall Baumberger, "I've known those North of the Border guys like Pat Devine (ICE Studios President) for such a long-time now and it feels good to finally put the solid ink on this deal. I know we can grow our ventures with this young fledgling entertainment beast known as ICE Studios. A bunch of hard working young actors whose star power continues to rise. We want to be apart of that in any sort of way possible. In the summertime we will make this deal official as we expect to sign a 10-year deal with these guys."
